I qualified as a Social Worker in 2014 and worked predominantly in the hospital setting where assessing mental capacity was an integral part of my work. In my time there I saw many mental capacity assessments completed respectfully and appropriately but I also saw situations where assessments were done rashly or not at all; without due consideration to person or the law. I witnessed the impact that this has on the entirety of that person’s life and the lives of those close to them. From these experiences I developed a true passion for mental capacity and was resolute in becoming part of the solution to ensuring mental capacity was assessed with expertise and empathy.
After meeting with Tim Farmer, I discovered that TSF Consultants shared in these beliefs and that same day I joined the TSF family.
I started at TSF’s Head Office as a Quality Monitoring Officer and Specialist Mental Capacity Assessor in 2016 where I spent the first four months shadowing Tim and learning from his skills and knowledge and honing my own. I then set out to develop TSF’s processes of monitoring the quality of each assessment and report to ensure our clients received the best service possible whilst also conducting my own assessments with TSF.
In 2018 I transitioned to working solely within the Quality Monitoring Team and was promoted to Quality Monitoring Team Leader in 2019. I am committed to continually developing TSF’s standards to ensure we remain the industry leaders and experts in the field of mental capacity and provide services to all of our clients with integrity and compassion.
