I am a multi-award winning author and expert witness specialising in the assessment of mental capacity and financial vulnerability. I have over 25 years’ experience of working with adults and children with reduced mental capacity and have completed in excess of 3,500 mental capacity assessments. I was the first mental health nurse to have evidence accepted by the Court of Protection and I am also a committee member of the National Mental Capacity Forum.
I regularly train legal, financial and health professionals around the practicalities of assessing mental capacity.
I am passionate about ensuring the rights of the individual are upheld and protected. I believe that people have the right to be the best that they can be and the right to the best possible mental capacity assessment possible. My favourite quote is from Dr Seuss “A person is a person, no matter how small”.
I set up the multi-award winning TSF to promote excellence and to innovate in the field of mental capacity and am proud that we continue to set the standard for others to follow.
